I posted yesterday about a problem that I can't access my cd-rom, cheers Derek
for the help. When I booted my pc last night though I got the error:

Shsudex v2.19
No drivers assigned. Shusudex can't install.

I hadn't noticed this before but I shouldn't get any errors as my I gave my pc
a fresh install of FreeDOS Beta9 at the weekend. Does anyone else get this
problem? I know Shsudex has something to do with cd-roms, would this stop me
from accessing my cd-rom? I found Shsudex in C:FDOS/BIN/ but the pc doesn't
seem to see it. Any suggestions on how I'd go about fixing this problem.

Cheers,
Jaqian

shsucdx need an external driver for cdrom.
The freedos include the atapicdd.sys in fdos\bin, simply uncomment or
add the line
DEVICE=C:\FDOS\bin\atapicdd.sys /D:FDCD0001
in config.sys (obviously replace the path and the number of the drive).

1) SHSUCDX can't locate the CD-ROM driver
2) the name of the CD-ROM driver and SHSUCDX's parameter not match

You can try using F8 (step by step) to see if the CD-ROM driver
loading successfully or not. Also you can try other CD-ROM drivers
such as MITSUMI's or even Win98 boot disk's OAKCDROM.SYS (not
recommended, too large).

Sometimes the driver failed to load because the driver fail to 'SEE'
the hardware, try a POWER RESET may help.

Johnson.
